Hamburgers



Read article: A chef's guide to buying a barbecue


For hamburgers, you will need:

1 kg lean ground beef

2 tbsp garlic powder

1 large onion, finely chopped

3 tbsp chopped fresh parsley

2 tbsp Maggi sauce

2 cups bread crumbs

3 eggs

1 tbsp coarse black pepper

Oil for brushing

(makes 12 patties)

In a large bowl, beat the eggs. Now add the beef and mix well to remove any lumps. Add everything else and mix well again. Shape into round patties about 1 cm thick.

Brush the tops of the patties with oil. Cook with the oiled side down on a pre-heated barbecue for about 3 minutes, while brushing the top side with oil. Turn over and cook for another 2 minutes. Serve.
